although i do enjoy playing your mods

i really don't mean to be offensive
but i think instead of producing a lot of so-so quality mods you should work on making humanoid models that are less boxish and produce ONE mod that is really good

now to tell you the truth i have only tried one of your mods(circus), and the models looked like they were rushed, you had 2-5 XML errors which screwed up the upgrades, your humans looked like box people, and the animations weren't natural looking.

an animating tip: instead of making their feet alternately go back and forth and have their body bounce up and down a little bit, make their knees bend and make it look realistic.
Have you seen madmanntis's animations, especially the axeman one, he makes it look like the axe is actually really heavy and that the guy is having some difficulties with it

please don't take any offense by all this, i know i don't even know how to animate, but listen to me when i say you need to take your time and think.

Another thing i noticed was that the flipping animations in which characters made their show, seemed like they were in a low gravity environment, but the trapeze animation was too slow in the beginning of the flip and then he just went ZIP 270 degrees in a split second.

I see that you have a nice siege tower, but here are some more:
This should keep you busy:
Mangonel:  Mobile medium sized catapult with a medium range.
Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mangonel
Code: [Select]
Picture: http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/7660/481563-catapult_large.jpg
Mantlet:  Block that could travel with the army as a attack absorber.  High Hp, medium move speed and a zero damage attack (0 damage because no attack would mean it would stay at base, and in real life it just stood around.)
Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavise Not exactly what i was looking for, but similar.
Code: [Select]
Picture: http://www.stronghold-knights.com/site/album/SH2MilitaryUnits//mantlet.jpg
Trebuchet:  Already used in the tech II faction, but better in this.  Stationary siege machine with high range flaming boulder attack.
Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trebuchet
Code: [Select]
Picture:http://www.naturelich.com/archives/images/trebuchet.jpg
Battering Ram:  Slow, but high armor and HP and devastating ram attack.
Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battering_ram
Code: [Select]
Picture:http://www.sbceo.k12.ca.us/~vms/carlton/ram2.jpg

The siege tower I made allready  has a battering ram.
Also I have a catapult.
And what use would a Mantlet be if it could not attack? (Is it just a guy behind a board wall that can not attack, but has a lot of health and you pout him in front of your archers and they take all the damage, wile your archers shoot at the enemy? If so the enemys archers shoot at what ever unit is giving them damage. So it would only work for sword men. And the bots would not use them properly, also why would you waste resorses on making them when you could just make a sword man who can attack?)
Dosen't  the Trebuchet seem like a catapult, I would not want to make two catapults.

Just thinking so what do you think?

Reading that post, I think you got plenty of seige weapons. More than enough, since in reality (there I go again, the reality gambit) seige weapons aren't going to do much against normal units, and are meant for, well, seiging!

I would strongly recommend improving some of the models and textures, since they feel very unnatural, especially the maid.

Of course, just to clarify a point, the trebuchet is a more advanced piece of seige equipment, made much after the catipult. It had far more power, and was able to throw heavier loads further distances. Would be really cool to animate, so I guess you can always consider it as an upgrade for the catipult (morph?), but thats up to you, and it isn't required.

I thing Ill make the catipult (morph) in to one. It will be bigger and have mor range and damage.(It wont be able to move. So you can bring a catapult up to the enemys land then go just out of sight of there units. Then morph it and bam! your desroying there stuff.

seam good?

Good idea. I like that. Heres concept on the trebuchet:
Code: [Select]
Having it not move makes sense, since there's no wheels on this one. I guess in reality you could have wheels, but you'd get better results with a heavy stationary base.

No wheels!!  Back in the days before shock absorbers, a trebuchet had the power to shake down a 10 ton stone castle tower.  Imagine what it would do to a set of puny wooden wheels!  It would be too powerful if mobile, and highly unrealistic.  It is basically the defense unit for crusaders.

Off topic:  Omega, you seem to misspell catapult a lot.  You say catipult, but it is catapult.  (Sorry, but i am a multiple spelling bee participant.)

Easy there!! Please go back and read my post.  It is supposed to absorb enemy attacks, and because it has a 0 damage attack would still try to attack enemies, but it wouldn't harm them.  It would be pretty cheap for its HP, and only cost in wood.

I agree, you can't have crusades without the knights and the foot soldiers.  Make the mantlet and be done with siege engines.

Ok I will make the sword man so he can morph in to a mantlet. (but he won't have a sword an he will give 0 damage.
And I will make the catapult morph in to a trebuchet. (I didn't intend for it to have wheels ever.)

You don't have to have the swordsman morph into it, just have the building that you have building the siege tower build a mantlet.

Meh, who cares. As long as you can tell what I'm saying. Besides, I still have some of the best GRAMMAR on the board, and better than average spelling. Besides, I only said it that way twice. Guess I must have been using school's computer, because firefox would have told me if I misspelled it...

You're right about no wheels, which is pretty much what I said. I just said it would be POSSIBLE to have them, but inefficent.

I like the name 'crusaders' because that's my school's team name. The crusaders. Pretty common name though... It's the only public school I've seen with a name like that though. But all the catholic schools are in the city, which is 40 minutes away...

OT: I have a sort of addiction (hypothetically) to trebuchets because we made one once in social. Hurled a small stone 30 some feet. Not bad for a cement block and some 2x4s!

Those models look good! :o\

For the first time, I played crusaders.  The ideas were nice, and I loved the models, especially the buildings.  Since I am really strapped for time, (which is the reason why I just now started playing crusaders) I am going to list all the errors, or aspects that could be changed.  (In my opinion).
PLEASE don’t judge me as hypercritical for making this:
-The “Cat Combs”: first of all, they are “Catacombs”, and they don’t seem to fit in the faction.
-The “Stone Man”: It looks like a gingerbread man, and I don’t see how it fits.  Also it is way too powerful (A couple can easily demolish a town).
-The “Cat Combs” dies in the beginning unless you immediately build a well.  And the “Cat Combs” is the only unit that uses water.  (Why have water?)
-I realize that this faction is still in the works, but like Tech2, it is almost identical to Tech.
-The “Siege Machine” should have melee impact damage.  The arrow attack, unless it is a flaming arrow attack, should have no splash.
-The “Templar” is too weak.  It has a bad melee attack.  The Knights Templar was an order of Monk-Warriors who devoted their fighting career to combating heathens.  Surely he could have some kind of special ability.  You could have a building called “Krak des Chevaliers” which would create Knights Templar, Hospitaller, and Teutonic.  Although I have no idea what the Teutonic would have as a special ability, the Knight Hospitaller could have a heal ability and could build a hospital, which would have a super powerful heal ability.
-Many of your Barracks units have leather armor, when they obviously are wearing metal mail armor.
-Since at the time of the Crusades, (1095 to mid 1200s) a Knight’s weapon of choice would be the broadsword, I think that instead of a lance, the “Knight” could have a sword.
-The “Biship” is supposed to be spelled “b-i-s-h-o-p”.
-It is in my opinion that the monk should morph into a Bishop.
-Why does the Church require a cathedral? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?
-The lance man should carry some sort of shield, because his right hand is unoccupied, as should the “Templar” and the “Knight”.
-I’m not sure if you are aware of this, but the helmet that your units wear is more like the kind that the Muslims would wear.  Try having them wear a mail coif, or hood, or a bucket helm.

P.S.  Please do not take offense, because I really want this faction to turn out well.  If I had more time I would make those changes myself, but I am currently very busy.

I enjoyed playing your faction, but it took me way too long to get powerful units and I died against the AI. :'(

I also played against Persian, and it was really cool.  Sometimes, though, the animations can look a little stiff...

That sounds cool.  When i was like 7 me and my brother made a complex mangonel.  It shot a Pink Pearl Eraser halfway across our house.
