the contest will start, when there are people wanting to participate. I guess u want to, all the good models will be used and everyone will get credited. but the winner will also win a 1k cheque, no just kidding. the winner will get more credit, and a hero named after him in my story mode...

im creating a tech tree now.

ok ur certainly tester then.

there will be 2 versions of the faction:

- story mode
- magitech

ive got the tech tree here:


now im gonna explain the units:
peasant: basic harvesting unit a bit faster in harvesting wood then the tech unit, but a bit less fast in mining. Can also build buildings (else AI is going to brake)
Shaman: sandstorm causing unit, blinding the sight for enemies.
lancer: light armored horseman. simple Leather armor and average attack, high speed.
horse archer: bow carrying alternative for the lancer.
knight: heavy leather armored, average-high speed, bit more then average attack.
mangudai: skirmisher
battering ram: high armor(wood), high hitpoints, high attack, but very slow
catapult: high attack, average armor, average hitpoint, very slow, long range
ballista: same as catapult, but with piercing weapon
trebuchet: very long range, very high attack, but no movement
repeater crossbowman: very fast rate of fire, very slow movement, average damage,
fort: is a surronding for buildings 8x8 field, with a 6x6 hole and 4 holes in the walls, very high hitpoints and defence, same attack specs as if there are 4 archers in it.
engineer: can harvest only stone, but very quick.
armored peasant: equal in harvesting to peasant, but rest specs equal to spearman.
spearman: basic ground unit, average hitpoints, average defence, average attack, average speed, longer range, average costs.
archer: equal to the tech archer in specs, but with a (little) bit more range and attack speed

hope to explained everything,

both trees are going to be the same, only balanced differently...

I'm not gonna model much but revise your tech tree in some ways first off no knights, the mongols didn't have those, second of all the repeater crossbow is chinese but you can keep it since its cool, add a recurve bow upgrade and a light cavalryman to scout and catch mounted archers, wheres da smoke screen fire, you could add a fire projectile upgrade to improve catapults and you need more cavalry variants since the mongols were horse tribes, I'll see what I come up with on that topic, Gabbe yurts were round, its a nice model but yurts should be a circular, the ballistas okay but it could use improvement. I'll see if I can model something but my current amount of work needed to be done is high. whats the weather forecasting for. You could add a mounted raider who would be armed with a torch and would do big damage to buildings, and a war elephant since after his indian conquests, tamerlane used those in his army.

i don`t see whats wrong with it...

yeah, definately more horses and especially archers..

I can make the rapid fire crossbowman model, real easy cuz I made the tech airship bomber for GW pack and it uses the same weapon.

I'm a bit busy at the moment, but later if I get some spare time I may do a model or two...

May I ask why you would want two versions (story and standard)?
It can easily be combined, since extra units are no big deal if they can't be created (ie: a hero unit will not affect normal play because there is no way to make it normally. It would exist only in a scenario where the lua creates it). For examples on this, the five part "End of Morning" series in military well illustrates a basic bit of that, having a few special units like Kings Guard or the massively high hp Bunker final boss.

what kind of models do u want to make, are u good at animating? in tahat case u can do unit models, asthe non spear cavalary needs models. what also needs models is the rest of the buildings, its up to the people who do the contest how they will look lijke, as long as they fit in the general contest, and the quality is good enough.

thx for ur participation. All ur models but one where contest winners so far, except for the cart, arch made one which was better.

maybe it would be cool to have a tiger rider?

just asking...
