Free models
« on: 30 May 2010, 04:03:27 »
This is the first model I have made just cuz I feel like it but I don't have a faction that could use it, its a technical, a light truck with a twenty millimeter automatic cannon on a pedestal mounted on the rear flat, it also has a gun shield, it is untextured and unanimated, hope you like it. :)
heres a pic

Its a big model and you don't have to use it this is only if someone wants it for their mod or project, I personally think its a good model :P :P. Arch and Gabbe stop the off topic arguing.

1600 triangles should be perfectly fine for a size 2 unit or larger, because there aren't as many on the screen at once.  Dwarves uses a lot more and runs just as well as Magitech.

I downloaded your Juggernaut model, and while 1600 faces is fine, it's way more than that model needs.  You've got a ton of unnecessary faces everywhere.  Just by deleting the faces that weren't doing anything, I got the polygon count down to around 1000.

Otherwise, it's a good start.  Could use some more details, I guess.

It'd be a very good idea to remake the turrets. Just make a pentagon cylinder to reduce poly counts. Duplicate and rescale that to have a low poly model.

First: You can spare a few more polies on the gun barrels, I'd say.  I generally use about 8 sides for even something as small as a spear.

Second: It looks like you messed up the side of that one platform.

Third: Would it kill you to crop your images?  You're eating up my bandwidth here. :P
